Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA) is a purified botulinum toxin type A injectable developed by Merz Aesthetics, a German aesthetics company with more than a century of pharmaceutical history. First FDA-approved for frown lines in 2011, Xeomin made history in 2024 as the first and only U.S. neurotoxin approved to treat forehead lines, crow's feet, and frown lines at the same time.
What sets Xeomin apart is its unique purification process, which removes the complexing (accessory) proteins found in other neurotoxins — leaving only the active 150 kDa molecule. With no unnecessary proteins, Xeomin may carry a lower likelihood of antibody formation over time — an important consideration for patients who receive regular neurotoxin treatments.
